Bradford Higgins
Bradford is the Managing Partner for US investments for SOSventures, with a primary focus on environmental and energy investments. From 2006-2009, Mr. Higgins served as Assistant Secretary of State for Resource Management & Chief Financial Officer to the US Department of State where he oversaw the Department’s $30+ billion budget along with its worldwide strategic and performance planning efforts. Previously, he served in Iraq as Director of Strategic Planning & Assessments for the US Mission in Baghdad. Prior to his government service, Mr. Higgins spent over twenty years on Wall Street, as a senior investment banker at Goldman Sachs and CS First Boston working as the banker/adviser to many of the largest and most complex assignments in the US public sector. Mr. Higgins started his career as an associate at the law firm of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett. He received both his AB and JD from Columbia University
Martin Flusberg, CEO
Martin has spent most of his career developing innovative technologies that address climate change; the first half in transportation and the second half in energy. Most recently, he was co-founder and President of Nexus Energy Software, a pioneer in delivering on-line energy and carbon analysis to consumers and businesses. Nexus — sold to ESCO Technologies (NYSE:ESE) in 2005 and now part of Aclara Technologies — evolved into a global provider of software solutions to the utility industry focusing on smart grid, smart meter, energy efficiency and demand-response. Martin was CEO of software companies Multisystems, Inc. and REALink SystemsCorp. and ran an energy software unit of TASC. that later became Lodestar Corp., since acquired by Oracle. He has also served on the faculty of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at MIT. Martin has an MSCE from MIT and a BEE from City University of New York.
Dan Kaplan
Dan is a seasoned entrepreneur who has founded, helped grow, and subsequently sold, several companies in the consumer media and Internet space. Through his most recent company, New England Media Partners where he was founder, Publisher and Editor, he was introduced to green technologies for the home. At the highly successful LowerMmybills.com, where he was co-founder and VP of Business Development, he spearheaded functionality to help consumers find ways to lower their energy bills. Dan has a BA degree from Antioch College.
Ron Rubbico
Ron has a background as a successful entrepreneur, executive, and adviser to technology companies. He is currently a member of CommonAngels, the largest Angel investment group in New England. Previously, Ron co-founded and built Foliage Software Systems, a technology strategy and software development firm specializing in the medical, aerospace, and semiconductor equipment markets. During his tenure, the company received a variety of awards for achieving industry firsts, product quality, and engineering excellence and rapid growth. Prior to co-founding Foliage, Ron held engineering and management positions with Technology Integration, Eaton Semiconductor, and Computervision. Ron holds a BE in Mechanical Engineering from Dartmouth and a BA in Chemistry from Skidmore.
