Carbon Footprint
Carbon Footprint is an estimate of the carbon emissions resulting from your electricity use, based on the mix of fuels used to generate electricity in your region. The comparison is with an average household in your state, which may have very different characteristics from your own household.
Electric use is only one part of your energy-related carbon output, which is also generated by your use of natural gas, oil, gasoline or other fuels.
The eMonitor shows carbon footprint circuit by circuit, including an estimate of the acreage of northern forest that is required to absorb the carbon created by a circuit in one year.
